lately, the environment in the office is getting quite tense... although i'm not directly involved in it, but my manager is the main protagonist. and as my seating arrangement is right smack in the middle of the opposing parties, i'm literally caught in the middle of the cross fires.
actually, from a 3rd party's point of view, the matter could've been settled quite amicably. and anyway, it's all higher management's matters. shouldn't involve us small fries.
but the problem is, the assistant of the other manager is such a petty person. in secret, i nicknamed her 'mulut laser' coz everything that comes out of her mouth is like poison, spewing vulgarities and vile remarks left and right. even on good days, she'd have lots to say abt everything and everyone. she may be very nice to you in your face, but the moment you turn your back, she'd be gossiping about you. and nothing escapes her!
so since the outbreak of hostilities between my manager and her manager, her fav topic of the day is of course my manager! her mouth is yakking non-stop the whole day long. and tho' generally she leaves me alone, but she is so loudmouthed that one can't help hearing every word she says. even the designer intern under me is scared of her!
so tired of all her complains, gossips, petty squabbles, name-callings and vulgar remarks. i need earmuffs!!!

mount kinabalu challenge!
guess what?! i signed up for my company's social club's mount kinabalu expedition in oct! sei mou?
even though we're paying for the trip ourselves, the organiser still wants to make sure each of us will be able to reach the top. so every week, we're to attend a training to build up our fitness level and not bring shame to the company. keke... so far, there has been 3 trainings at the batu caves, but due to one reason or another, i was not able to join them until the 3rd training.

other than climbing up and down the batu caves, we'll also be going for trekking trips around kl. should be quite fun, and at the same time, it'll be a good chance for me to work out some!

well, basically, we're just to climb up and down the stairs at batu caves and keep adding more rounds each week. and i'd say i did pretty well for my 1st training. with 1 up and 1 down trip considered as 1 round, i managed to do 2 rounds! this is not bad at all, u know! other than the organiser, the rest of the gals only did 1 round for their 1st training (the organiser gal did 5 rounds - crazy hor?). i'll try to increase my rounds to 3 this coming weekend... hopefully lar, coz my leg muscles still hurts like hell now!

where did that come from???
it's amazing how our mind works! i've been discovering how my mind can compose it's own words and gibberish when i'm half asleep at my desk, esp lately, after starting working regular hours again. my current job requires me to wake up very early, so by the end of the day, i'll be a walking zombie! normally i'll be in a state of stupor by 11pm... and if i still have work to do, that's when all those funny compositions and whatnots will appear! when i look back at my work the next morning, a big question mark will form in my head, "har?! where did that come from???"
and yesterday was the funniest instance! i had just managed to struggle thru till the end, hoping to finish off the last bit and e-mail it out before i call it a night. by then i was so dazed that i had to keep stamping my feet and shaking my head to keep myself from dozing off in my chair... then when i was about the shut down the laptop, i thot to myself, "eh? did i e-mail it out ar?" so i opened up my outlook again to check. in my outbox, guess what i saw???
i dunno y or how, or mayb i was already in dreamland, but i actually e-mailed out my work to mon, with the subject title:
"u never study hor? better sit there, at my new place..."
BIG question mark, right?! i immediately went and called mon over to look! needless to say, i was wide awake instantly and rolling about in laughter!

seems like this is the latest 'in' thing among partners? just yesterday, a friend told me of her daughter crying abt her over-controlling bf... and then this morning, the topic for mix FM's 'he says she says' is also on over-controlling partners! and all these right after my own show down with the over-possessive bf! pure coincidence or is this the prevailing trend among partners nowadays? hmm... points to ponder, huh?
neeways, met up with the x no. 2 yesterday to discuss on some stuff... he's looking more composed and calm. we even had a nice chat on general stuff. maybe it's really possible to remain as friends after all these...

u said u'll wait till after his exam before breaking the news to him, but u acted too rash... yeah, he forced u to blurt it all out, but actually u could have swallowed it down and bear it for another month. u are not a good actress after all...
u wanted a peaceful and calm break up, but u still speak all those unkind words to him. it was unnecessary... but u just had to open ur mouth n speak ur mind. y hurt him further by telling him all those things? u needn't be so truthful...
u cried hard when he requested for one last hug from u. yes, it's difficult. and it may be the last hug u'll get from a guy who really and truly loved u with all his might. u even contemplated taking it all back n keeping his love forever. but u urself know that is a very selfish act. and would u be able to live that way? to be loved and not love? i dun think so...
u know u must live with the consequences. of course u'll miss his love and care and all the things he's willing to do and sacrifice for u. but since u've decided to take this course, u'll just have to live with it and make the best of it.
these past few days has been an emotionally charged one, but i know u'll live. u've been thru worse... and u still have ur family and friends whom u can count on. so for now, just take some time and let things settle down for a bit. go back to your prime point of faith and dun forget to include a little prayer for him too. u've hurt him badly, it's the least u can for him now...

my first sale!
woohoo! i finally sold something on etsy! hehee... so happy...
i had a tag done with my shop name and url... nice touch?
after searching for a suitable box, i then remembered that actually i know how to make boxes out of greeting cards... here i used a chinese new year card from my ex-housemate.
i fashioned my box based on the matchbox concept...
ta-dah! nice?
so excited to be making sales. but oh how i wish i have the time to make more stuff for my shop... *sigh*

korean cravings...
*this is a repeat post that i did earlier for another blog that i'm a co-author to

oh, so excited! i just went for my lunch and guess what i found? a korean restaurant near my office! it's called Jen's Korean Cafe... the price is reasonable and the food is not bad too! but one thing is, they don't serve the side dishes...
i think for some, korean food is an acquired taste... and not everyone can take the taste. but for me, it was love at first taste! and i always judge a korean makan place based on their bibimbab. a bibimbab is basically a dish made up of rice, various types of vege, beef/chicken and fried egg. it's eaten by stirring in the gochujang (chili pepper paste). and it's simply yummy! if their bibimbab is good, then i'll say the restaurant is good! hahaha...
this is a dolsot bibimbab, meaning bibimbab in a claypot.
ok, back to my lunch... Jen's place is quite ok, considering it's not very pricey. but oh dear! would it be bibimbab everyday from now on??? hopefully i'll be able to control my cravings!

someone keep me away from craft shops, pls!
ok, so i was so impatient to start my x-stitch kokeshi that i decided not to take up on emily's offer to help me buy the x-stitch threads from a shop in pj old town (SinWah?) that's selling per skien 10 sen cheaper than the shop i surveyed in ampang park (Haby & Wools). she said she'll be going to SinWah(?) the next day, and won't mind getting all the things for me and then post them to me. i was thinking, "aiyo, have to wait for the post lagi!" hehehe... so i headed on to Haby's after work on sat and realized what a big mistake that was! *sigh* i just can't help myself! in the end, i spent abt RM150!!! and the woman still refused to give me discounts! ^@&^*&%$!

i've never seen a metal shuttle before. and this onehas a winch sort of thing in the middle! so i must have it!
and purchase no. 5 was also a fancy buy. i mean, i already have crochet hooks and i dun need one in this size at all. but i've always wanted a nice hook with handle! all these while i've only been using those cheap normal metal hooks, so i thought it'll be nice to have a nice hook for crochet. hehe... excuses, excuses, excuses! i know!
that night, i was so curious abt the metal shuttle that i decided to try it out, since i wanted to make a bookmark for my colleague (the girl i'm to replace at my new work place), to go along with the book i've gotten her. it was after i started tatting that i remembered the reason y i dun really like tatting... tatting threads are so fine that they'll cut when pulled too tight. and i've always liked my tatting to be tight, so it's quite a torture when closing rings. the last time i tatted, the thread even cut right thru my skin and left a gnash on my forefinger! and i'll always have broke fingernails when i tat, due to trying to close the rings too. all that came back to me when i tried out the metal shuttle... but actually it's quite nice to use lar. coz of the winch, we don't have to snap the thread out of the opening. the wound-up thread would just keep feeding out from the shuttle. in fact, unlike an ordinary shuttle, there isn't any opening for the thread to be pulled out at all!
anyway, i've abandoned my tatted bookmark project and decided to present instead my previously tatted bookmark. maybe next time when the mood returns, i'll tat another bookmark for myself. only god knows when that will be! hehe...
